A 45-year-old Iraqi Christian in a wheelchair was killed in France in what authorities are calling a brutal attack. The victim, identified as Ashur Sarnaya, was a member of the Assyrian-Chaldean community and a devout attendee of Saint Ephrem Church in Lyon.

According to reports, Sarnaya was attacked by an individual described as a jihadist, in an incident that has raised concerns about security and religious tensions. Details surrounding the attack remain under investigation, and officials have not yet disclosed the motive or the attacker’s identity.

Sarnaya, known for his regular participation in community and religious activities, was reportedly targeted in an assault that resulted in his death.
