A man armed with a machete attacked a group of schoolchildren as they exited Pierre Semard School in La Seyne-sur-Mer, France, earlier today. The incident occurred shortly before noon and caused immediate concern among local residents and authorities.

Fortunately, a nearby police patrol was in the vicinity and responded swiftly to the scene. Officers engaged the attacker and subsequently shot him, resulting in his death at the scene. No injuries to the children or officers have been reported at this time.
