Poland and the United Kingdom have announced the signing of an agreement to establish a new artillery shell manufacturing facility in Poland. The facility will focus on producing 155 mm NATO-standard shells, a key artillery component used by multiple allied forces.

According to officials, the plant is scheduled to produce between 150,000 and 180,000 shells annually. The production will incorporate technology transfers from BAE Systems Inc., a major defense contractor based in the United Kingdom.

The deal signifies a strategic step in strengthening military capabilities and defense cooperation between Poland and the UK. It aims to bolster NATO’s artillery supply chain and enhance regional security amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Details regarding the project’s timeline and investment figures were not disclosed. However, officials emphasized that the initiative represents an important move toward increasing European defense self-sufficiency and operational readiness.
