Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, a Christian leader in Nigeria, has issued a stark warning amid ongoing violence targeting religious communities. In a recent statement, he told his family that he fears he may be targeted by Islamist militants and urged them not to pay ransom if that occurs. “If they come for me, don’t pay a single dime. I’ll tell them to kill me quickly,” he said.

Dachomo’s comments highlight the severe risks faced by religious leaders and Christians in parts of Nigeria where violence and insurgent attacks have increased. He expressed a resolute attitude, asserting that his sacrifice could help inspire others: “My blood will rise warriors, my blood will bring the liberation of Christians in Nigeria.”

The security situation in Nigeria remains tense, with numerous reports of attacks from groups such as Boko Haram and other insurgents opposing religious minorities and government forces. Religious leaders often find themselves caught in the crossfire, facing threats of violence and kidnapping.

Despite the dangers, figures like Dachomo continue to speak out, emphasizing faith and resilience amid adversity. Authorities and community leaders are called upon to enhance protection efforts and work towards peace in regions plagued by ongoing conflict.
