Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) reported a total of 850 suspicious drone sightings between January and mid-October 2025. The incidents involved unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) being detected in various locations across the country, raising concerns among authorities and security agencies.
Many of these sightings occurred near sensitive sites, including military facilities, defense industry centers, energy infrastructure, and water supply systems. The repeated appearance of drones in these areas has intensified security measures and prompted investigations into the origins and intent of the UAVs.
On October 13, authorities reported a notable incident involving four drone sightings in quick succession, underscoring ongoing surveillance and security concerns. While no direct threats or breaches have been confirmed, the frequency and locations of the sightings continue to be a matter of national security consideration.
The German government and law enforcement agencies are monitoring the situation closely, emphasizing the importance of enhanced security protocols to prevent potential threats related to unauthorized drone activity. The authorities have also called for stricter regulations governing drone use to mitigate risks to critical infrastructure and public safety.
