Norway has announced a new military aid package valued at approximately $315 million, aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The package includes advanced weapon systems and equipment intended to enhance Ukraine’s military operations amid ongoing conflicts.
The aid package features laser-guided missiles for Ukraine’s F-16 fighter jets, specifically the APKWS (Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System). Additionally, Norway will provide guidance kits designed to upgrade existing Hydra 70 rockets, transforming them into precision-guided munitions suitable for both F-16 aircraft and ground-based air defense systems. The package also includes S-300 air defense missiles, which are intended to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense network.
Norwegian officials have emphasized that the aid aims to support Ukraine in defending its sovereignty. The assistance comes amid international efforts to provide military support to Ukraine, with Norway joining other allies in contributing advanced weaponry to aid Kyiv’s defense efforts.
