Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reportedly pledged to purchase U.S. weapons totaling $100 billion, financed through European and Ukrainian sources. The move aims to secure U.S. security guarantees as part of negotiations for a potential peace agreement with Russia, according to a report by the Financial Times.

In addition to the military aid, Zelensky has proposed a $50 billion drone deal, whereby Ukraine would produce drones for the United States. This initiative is seen as part of broader efforts to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities and deepen military cooperation with the U.S.

The disclosures come amid ongoing efforts by Ukraine to secure international support and resources amid the conflict with Russia. U.S. and European officials have yet to confirm the details of Zelensky’s financial commitments, but the reported plans highlight Ukraine’s focus on strengthening its military infrastructure and negotiations for peace.

Analysts view these proposals as strategic moves by Kyiv to secure better guarantees and leverage in diplomatic talks, although the scale of the proposed transactions indicates a significant increase in military collaboration between Ukraine and Western allies. The international community continues to monitor developments closely as both sides explore options toward ending the conflict.
