Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Vince Dizon as the new head of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Dizon’s appointment comes after the resignation of Manuel Bonoan, who stepped down amid ongoing controversies related to flood-control projects managed by the department.

Vince Dizon, previously serving in various government roles, now takes on the leadership of the agency responsible for infrastructure development and maintenance across the Philippines. His appointment aims to address concerns surrounding department activities and to oversee the implementation of major infrastructure initiatives.

The resignation of Bonoan and the appointment of Dizon highlight ongoing efforts by the government to improve transparency and project management within the DPWH. Officials have emphasized the importance of ensuring that flood-control measures and infrastructure projects are executed effectively and with due accountability.

As Dizon assumes his new role, he will be tasked with restoring public trust and advancing the department’s infrastructure goals while managing the complexities of flood mitigation and other critical development projects nationwide.
