Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he cannot visit Moscow while Ukraine is under ongoing attack, describing the Russian capital as the “capital of terrorists.” Zelensky emphasized that currently, it is unsafe and unacceptable for him to travel to Russia amid the conflict.
During recent remarks, Zelensky also referenced a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which Putin allegedly claimed he would take control of the Donbas region within two to four months. Zelensky responded to this assertion, asserting that such plans will not succeed and that Ukraine remains committed to defending its territory.
The tensions between Ukraine and Russia continue to escalate as both sides exchange accusations and military actions persist in eastern Ukraine. The conflict, which has been ongoing since 2014, intensified with Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.
Earlier, reports indicated that Putin had extended invitations to various officials and representatives for diplomatic talks, though substantive negotiations have yet to materialize. The international community continues to monitor the situation amid concerns over regional stability and the potential for further escalation.
