Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), under the leadership of General Burhan and reportedly linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, have been accused of targeting Christian religious sites amid ongoing conflict in Sudan. Reports indicate that SAF forces have launched attacks against Christian churches, raising concerns about sectarian violence within the country.

Just prior to the outbreak of civil war, a member of the SAF was reportedly involved in setting fire to the Sudanese Church of Christ building, marking one of the early incidents of religiously-motivated violence. Since the escalation of fighting, there have been continued reports of attacks on Christian communities and places of worship, exacerbating tensions in the region.

The civil conflict has led to widespread instability in Sudan, with various reports suggesting that religious minorities have been particularly vulnerable amid the chaos. Human rights organizations are calling for investigations into these incidents and for efforts to protect religious sites and communities from further harm.

The Sudanese government and military officials have yet to issue comprehensive statements addressing the allegations. Meanwhile, international observers remain concerned about the implications of ongoing violence on Sudan’s religious minorities and the broader stability of the country.
