Daria Lopatina, a 19-year-old who studied artificial intelligence at the Kyiv School of Economics, left her academic pursuits in her second year to join the Ukrainian military. Her decision to enlist was driven by her sense of national duty amid ongoing conflicts in the region.
Lopatina served as an operator in a radio-electronic warfare unit, where she was involved in military operations against Russian forces. Tragically, she was killed in action three months ago during a confrontation with the Russian Army.
Her death has been acknowledged by her unit and the local community, who have expressed their condolences and paid tribute to her bravery and sacrifice. Lopatina’s story highlights the personal sacrifices made by many young individuals in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
